Cost and Pricing
3 questions answered
You'd think the hard part of comparing prices would be finding them. Around here it isn't. Ask three practices and you'll get three numbers within a day. The hard part is that those numbers are usually measuring different things, and nobody tells you which.
The three pages in this section each take one skin treatment and pull its quote apart. I've picked the treatments that cause the most confusion, because each is priced in its own way. A peel is priced mainly by depth. Microneedling is priced per session but bought as a course. A PRP facial bundles a blood draw, some lab processing and a needling session under one name that can mean several different treatments.
I don't publish figures on this site. Prices here change often, and any number I printed would be out of date before long and would look like an offer from a practice I have nothing to do with. What I can give you is the method.
One page per treatment
How Much Does a Chemical Peel Cost? starts with depth, because that's what sets the price. It explains what you're paying for as a peel gets stronger, why a course of light peels can cost as much as one deeper one, and what a suspiciously cheap quote tends to leave out.
How Much Does Microneedling Cost? argues that the session price is the least useful number on the page. The course is the real cost, and the page gives four questions that make two quotes comparable, plus the places people most often waste money.
How Much Does a PRP Facial Cost? begins by untangling the name, since at least three different treatments get sold as a PRP facial. Then it asks whether the premium over plain microneedling is justified for you, and lists six questions to put to anyone quoting.
Converting a quote into something comparable
Every quote I've seen can be reduced to the same four lines. If you can't fill one in, ask until you can.
What's in one visit. The treatment itself, and anything added to it: numbing, a mask, a take-home product, the blood draw for PRP.
How many visits the plan assumes. One, three, six. This matters more than the price per visit.
What happens afterwards. Is a review visit included, or charged separately? What about a maintenance session later in the year?
What the package commits you to. Paying upfront for a course can save money. It can also lock you into sessions you'd have skipped once you'd seen the first result.
Multiply the first line by the second, add the third, and you have a figure worth comparing. Two practices can look far apart per session and land close together over a full course, or the other way round.
When the cheaper quote is the better one
Cheap isn't automatically a warning. A practice may simply have lower rent or a quieter diary. The questions that separate a fair low price from a risky one are the same for all three treatments: who carries out the procedure, what depth or device they're using, and what happens if you react badly on day three.
If those answers are clear and match the pricier quote, take the saving. If they're vague, the difference in price is probably paying for something you'd want.
The costs that don't appear on an invoice
Recovery time is part of the price. A medium peel or a deeper microneedling session can mean several days you'd rather not be seen, which for anyone with a public-facing job is a real cost. Count it.
So is travel. A course of three or more visits multiplies every trip, and a slightly higher price somewhere easy to reach can work out cheaper in practice than a bargain that needs two buses.
Local context
Whether a practice holds a business licence or which zone it sits in is municipal information, and for Weehawken the township's own site at WEEHAWKEN TOWNSHIP | Home is where it lives. For a wider view of which businesses are established members of the local economy, the statewide chamber at Home and the regional North Jersey Chamber of Commerce – How to Grow Your Business – Networking Events – North Jersey both publish member directories. Useful for a first filter. Silent on quality.
Start with whichever treatment you already have a quote for, and fill in the four lines before you call anyone back.
